Pete and Wendy

Wendy, an all-new web series from Macy's.com, and although the show is not aired on the CW, I thought it worth mentioning since it comes from our favorite producers of TVD, Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec.

As you can already guess, the mini-series is a new, new interpretation of the story of Peter Pan and Wendy and their adventures in Neverland. However, unlike other remakes where the main plot line remains the same, this takes place in modern day with Peter, or Pete, as a teenager, not a young boy. The basis of the show is that Wendolyn, Wendy (Meghan Martin), does not remember her adventures in Neverland from when she was a child. Yet she continues to have dreams about Pete (Tyler Blackburn) and although she doesn't remember why, she has a strange attraction to him.

The first chapter titled, In a Dream and which is only a little over five minute long, shows Wendy at a party in dream where she stumbles upon Pete singing on stage to a crowd of partying kids. When Pete spots her in the crowd he rushes over to her and attempts to grab her hand. As soon as their hands are about to touch, it looks as though he's touching a bubble and when it pops, Wendy finds herself awake and back in present-day reality. She's talking in her driveway with her boyfriend (which obviously won't last very long with Pete around) and her friend when she hears the song from her dream. She follows the man in the car but it's not Pete. Yet, she looks at his fence and spots the portrait she woke up to in the dream and the episode ends.

I believe the first chapter was amazingly done and it keeps that air of mystery and magic that we love so much from our CW shows. Not to mention that Tyler Blackburn is gorgeous, is Peter Pan, and can sing!!! I can't wait til Wendy finally finds him.
